In order to protect the environment at the local level,the Minister of environment protection of nature and sustainable development (MINEPDED) , empowered councils to ensure that all the activities carried out in their localities should not have a negative impact on the environment.
Councils should also reduce all activities that affect the environment in or around their localities trough the elaboration of an environmental impact notice.
It is in this light that John Takang, EGI Director invited some councils worker in the Fako division in order to train them on Environmental impact notice for councils for FAKO Division .

At the END Participant took part to a brainstorm activities which consisted on
-identifying small and medium size enterprises/business partnerships/sole proprietorships whithin their municipality
-developing an action plan for council and institution to be executed after the training workshop
